About
HELLO THERE!
And welcome to Bildlager.
Bildlager means picture store in German. So what you will find here is a selection of pictures that Dominique Hufschmid has taken, designed or illustrated.
Most of the photos you will find on this blog are taken in Nicaragua, though you can also find some older work, some of which was taken with different types of mechanical or self-made cameras.
“They all mean a lot to me, and are working as a kind of diary.” Explains Hufschmid about her photos. “They help me to reflect and understand life better. While they remind me of faded memories they are provoking new stories. The past fuses with imagination. Things that have happened and stories that might have followed.”
Many of her photos are about people. Characters, that seems to tell their special stories. People, that appears to wait for somebody or something. People, which physically are there but there spirits seams to be somewhere else, in an other time or reality, or with an other person. And people that aren’t there anymore, only there traces that are left behind which tell us something about them.
“My photos aren’t meant to tell you the truth about somebody or something. They are there to reflect the one who is looking at them. Reflect their life, their person and their wishes and worries based on their own experience.”
So enjoy your trip trough Bildlager.
